He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and Amtrak as a hearing officer for 35 years before retiring in For years it was a dream to have a train platform depicting the Horseshoe Curve. History[ edit ] The name for O gauge and O scale is derived from “0 [zero] gauge” or “Gauge 0” being smaller than Gauge 1 and the other then-existing standards. It was created in part because manufacturers realized their best selling trains were those built in the smaller scales. In the United States, manufacturers such as the Ives Manufacturing Company , American Flyer , and Lionel Corporation used O gauge for their budget line, marketing either Gauge 1 or ‘Wide gauge’ also known as ‘standard gauge’ as their premium trains.

The work of assembling the parts of the locomotive kits was done in one of the partner’s apartments. This was the address 41 N. Reading Avenue that would appear on the early products. The apartment house has since been torn down. The three partners made some very good decisions during this period. I will mention just three and say a little about each decision: Large companies like A. Gilbert had suspended model train production during World War II. The idea for this artwork was proposed by a Long Island artist and musician, Patrick Voorhees, early in He wanted to do something to remember those lost on and to give the artists the opportunity to create and work in a safe space that would be appreciated. A plan was developed and both the RPO and P were decorated with memorial murals. Both cars received full coats of livery paint before the artwork was applied to the north side of the cars. In , I suggested to Patrick not to paint over the car as the mural is so moving, beautiful and poignant.
He agreed and we only painted P , I’ve attached images of the issue and the issue of that artwork, has the Statue of Liberty to the right of the car. The presentation and artwork has been praised by the local fire and police departments, LIRR workers and MTA Police and many local residents who come and take pictures of the memorials. It is good work, we “Never Forget” and the cars are kept in a fresh coat of paint to protect them from further deterioration in our moist, salt-air environment.

Stockley was one of a number of impressive performers — especially in defence — for the Grecians against Swindon as they extended their unbeaten run to nine games in all competitions. Jonathan Forte got the opening goal in a first half that caused Exeter problems as they played into the face of storm Callum, which swept the Westcountry these past few days and made playing conditions difficult.
I had a bit of a pop at the lads last week and told them they needed to be better in certain aspects of their game and that was a pretty complete performance. Like us on Facebook.

They had shareholders to appease. Their annual stock reports boasted of expansion on one hand, and admitted losses on the other. Management seemed to believe that trains were a liability to their success. Luckily, instead of halting train production, they gave someone else a chance to get it going again.
